The Ersatz Brothers are a Michigan Thumb duo comprised of Terry Ross and Jeff Guenther that traces its origins to the mid-70s. Since that time both musicians have had plenty of time to try to figure out how to play music. The repertoire consists of historical music, much of it of dance origin, performed on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, pennywhistle, and harmonica - deftly paired with vocal solos and duets.
Picks & Sticks is a metro Detroit duo of extraordinary talent. Morgan & Sherry Humecki are well-known as frequent performers at Greenfield Village, the Dulcimer Festival in Evart, and the Huckleberry Railroad in Flint. Morgan is a "monster" on the banjo, guitar, and mandola, as well as being an accomplished vocalist and audience-engaging entertainer. Sherry is a virtuoso of the hammered dulcimer. She will amaze and delight with show-stoppers such as the William Tell Overture, Ghost Rider's in the Sky, and other highly skillful arrangements that few can accomplish on the dulcimer.
Formed in 2015, Shasta Fox grew out of a shared desire to play funk, soul and rock music with a solid danceable groove. The Shasta crew are all veteran performers from the Detroit music scene, with tenure in bands such as The King's English, Osho, Star Chasm and Vicious Fish. If you catch a Shasta Fox show, you might hear songs by Sly and Family Stone, Hall & Oates, Bill Withers, Amy Winehouse and The Black Keys, just to name a few.
Join us for our first ever comedy night! Due to language, we ask you leave the kids with the sitter for this one.
Headliner Matt Holt has been making people laugh most of his life. He’s been doing it professionally for nearly 20 years. He displays a quick-wit and razor-sharp delivery along with a very laid back and conversational style on stage. When a comic lives in the moment, no two shows are alike. With his relaxed style, Matt transitions seamlessly from scripted material to of-the-cuff conversation with the audience, leaving them laughing, applauding and gasping for air.Being the youngest of 8 kids, twice divorced and having no health care is what drives Matt to the stage night after night. Matt never misses a chance to laugh at himself, which allows him to break down the barrier between the audience and the performer. It’s like sitting down with an old friend and having the time of your life. In addition to his stand up performances, Matt has also kept busy creating one-man shows. In 2014 he wrote and produced his show “Thank You Johnny Carson”, which received great reviews. In 2015 he debuted his latest show, “Acting My Age!”Matt has performed with many of the greats in the comedy world: Louis CK, Dave Attel, John Pinette, Ron White, and Jimmy Pardo among
many, many more. Matt’s latest CD “Acting My Age” can be heard on Sirius/XM radio and debuted on the top ten iTunes comedy chart.
Along with Matt, Lou DeGrant and Chad Jagotka drop by to bring the laughs.
Chad Jagotka: Growing up a huge fan of Comedy, the fire to perform slowly simmered inside him. Life caught up, and those thoughts took a back seat as his children were born. Eventually that simmer turned into a fire that couldn’t be contained any longer. Stepping on stage in 2015, Chad has been crisscrossing the state, and into Ohio ever since!
Now, as a happily married father of seven, Chad is entertaining small crowds, and large rooms with his all to real stories about marriage, and fatherhood. Chad has opened for Norm Stulz, and Dave Landau.
Lou DeGrant’s hilarious stories and comedy come from his ridiculous life. It’s all on the table: the triumphs, the setbacks and the mundane. Lou has become a comic to watch by spending the past few years performing all throughout Michigan; at comedy clubs, bars, breweries, and even a bowling alley. He has opened up for Dave Landau, Matt Holt and Sal Demilio. Lou’s absurd stories and conversational style leaves audiences laughing and ready for more.
Lou DeGrant and Matt Holt are the cohosts of the forthcoming “another beer podcast” with Lou and Matt. Follow them: https://www.facebook.com/anotherbeerpod/
