Mert Sela, an internationally recognized classical and flamenco guitarist with a story that spans continents. Originally from Turkey and now based in St. Clair, Michigan, Mert earned his degree from Kocaeli University, spent 15 years teaching guitar professionally, and then traveled to Spain to immerse himself in flamenco music at its source. He's shared stages from Istanbul to the Great Lakes, and even invented the Sela Music Clock, a patented music theory system that makes the complex beautifully simple. His performance at PAK's Backyard will take you somewhere far beyond the ordinary. Come with open ears!
